📜 Background

In 2020 when the pandemic hit, Foundry lost one of their investors and was forced to make at least 38 people redundant as a result. Morale was low, our Head of Delivery resigned and we needed a plan to find more customers and investors quickly. After speaking to a number of potential customers, we came up with a plan to build a basic deposit account that would be the foundations of our Banking as a Service solution. The project had limited budget available and we had to release something that our users would love quickly.

📝 Description

Heading up the delivery at Foundry, I led our engineering teams to build a basic deposit account product called 11:Money. Optimised our ways of working during the pandemic that lead to the successful delivery of the project in just 4 months. Cultivated a culture of continuous improvement and open feedback; conducted effective, creative, and engaging retrospectives to identify opportunities for improvement and guided the team to reach their improvement goals. Introduced health check metrics and Net Promoter Scores across the Foundry teams to better understand areas of improvement. Worked closely with the Product Manager, CTO, CEO and CPO to set OKRs, drive planning, estimation and coordination of the product roadmap and its execution using elements of the Shape Up method. Created autonomous, self-organising and high performing teams. Developed an agile strategy and blueprint for implementing and scaling the Agile processes across multiple teams and departments.
